- Sundarbans are a part of the world’s largest delta, formed by the mighty rivers Ganga, Brahmaputra and Meghna. Situated on the lower end of Gangetic West Bengal, the Sundarbans is criss-crossed by hundreds of creeks and tributaries. It is one of the most attractive and alluring places remaining on earth, a truly undiscovered paradise. Apart from being a unique largest mangrove eco-system of the world, the Sundarbans has the world’s largest deltaic mangrove forests and is also home to one of India’s most iconic wildlife species – the Royal Bengal Tiger.
Day 01: Kolkata/Sundarban Tiger Reserve:
• Drive to Gothkhali Jetty (approx. 3hours journey) to board a boat to reach Sundbans (approx. 2 ours ride). Sundarbns is the largest mangrove forest in the world with a large concentration of Royal Bengal Tigers. Some 78 species of mangroves are recorded across the forest. This wonderful biosphere reserve houses many rare and endangered animals including aquatic mammals, tigers, birds and reptiles.
• On arrival check at our resort. Afternoon depart by boat to Sajnekhali Tiger Project Area for viewing Wild life, Sajnekhali Museum, Mangrove Interpretation Centre & Watch Tower.
Day 02: Sunderbans Tiger Reserve :
• Boat Cruise inside creeks and dense forest (breakfast on boat during cruise) through numerous rivers while visiting Dobanke – the caged canopy walkway inside the forest.
• Also visit the Spotted Deer Rehabilitation Centre.
• After which we cruise through Matla Sea Face (the point from where Bay of Bengal can be seen) – back through the 5 river junction – to Pitchkhali.
• Later promenade around the neighboring village to interact with the Local Community at a typical Sunderban settlement to understand their local Art, Culture and Way of Life (how man and tiger coexist in such a difficult terrain.)
• After which we cruise through Matla Sea Face (the point from where Bay of Bengal can be seen) – back through the 5 river junction – to Pitchkhali.
• Later promenade around the neighboring village to interact with the Local Community at a typical Sunderban settlement to understand their local Art, Culture and Way of Life (how man and tiger coexist in such a difficult terrain.)

• Return to the hotel for lunch and then board the boat to Gothkhali.
