Day 01 Mumbai – Cochin

You will be transferred to airport for a short flight to Cochin. Arrive Cochin at 1330hrs, meeting & assistance on arrival at the airport and transfer to hotel. Enjoy boat cruise during the time of sunset in the Cochin Harbor area with spectacular view of Marine Drive, Chinese Fishing Nets, Bolgatty Palace, Willington Island and Cochin harbor.

Day 02 Cochin

Today morning visit Dutch Palace, the palace built by the Portuguese and presented to the Raja of Cochin in 1555 A.D. The palace is well known for its mural paintings, which are noted for their high level of excellence. Jewish Synagogue, It was built in 1568 by the Malabar Yehudan or Cochin Jewish community. Afternoon visit St Francis Church, this centuries old church was originally built completely of timber and later reconstructed in stone masonry. Chinese fishing nets Chinese fishing nets are a fascinating sight, these nets, at the entrance of the harbor and along the backwaters with pivots of wood, were introduced by traders from the court of Kublai Khan in 1350AD. Evening Kathakali dance program in a local theater.

Day 03 Cochin – Periyar (200kms / 5hrs)

Morning drive to Periyar, The very sound of the word Thekkady conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spice scented plantations. Periyar is sprawled over an area of 777 sq kms and its Tiger reserve is an example of nature’s bounty with great scenic charm and rich bio-diversity. In the afternoon enjoy boat cruise on Lake Periyar (subject to operation & availability).

Day 04 Periyar – Kumarakom (125kms / 4hrs)

Today morning visit Spice Plantations around Thekkady and then drive down to the coast and to the melodically named town of Kumarakom on the banks of Lake Vembandu. Kumarakom is a world famous backwater destination. Arrive & check in at hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the natural beauty of this scenic place or you may choose to treat yourself with one of the many Ayurveda relaxing therapies (at your own costs).

Day 05 Kumarakom

Morning enjoy back water cruise on Lake Vembanadu (2 hrs cruise). In the afternoon enjoy village walk and interact with local villagers and in the evening visit bird sanctuary. OVERNIGHT AT HTOEL

Day 06 Kumarakom / Munnar (185kms / 5hrs)

Drive to Munnar en-route passing by tea / spice plantations. Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams and perched about 1600 m above sea level, the hill station of Munnar once used to be the summer resort of the erstwhile British administration in south India. This hill station is marked by vast expanses of tea plantations, colonial bungalows, rivulets, waterfalls and cool weather. In the evening visit sunset point.

Day 07 Munnar

Today morning visit Tea Garden, Team Museum and also take short Tea Tasting program at one of the visiting tea plantations. Later in the evening visit Eravikulam national park. The Park, spread over 97 sq km, is a green paradise and home home to rare flora, fauna and wildlife. The biggest attraction of the park is Nilgiri Tahr (Nilgiritragus hylocrius), an endangered species of mountain goat. Around one-third of the world’s population of this species lives in this park. Neelakurinji, the plant which flowers once in twelve years, grows in abundance here making the park a must-visit place during the kurinji flowering season. The Eravikulam National Park is endowed with rich flora and fauna which one would experience during a venture into the park. The Eravikulam National Park is around 13 km away from Munnar town.

Day 08 Munnar / Cochin

Today morning enjoy 3 – 5 hrs trekking in and around Munnar starting with tea plantations and through grass lands and forest. Afternoon drive to Cochin.

Day 09 Depart Cochin

You will be transferred to Cochin airport concluding your services.
