Day 01: Arrive Delhi: Room reserved
from 12 noon for immediate occupancy.
Day 02: Delhi/Bagdogra/ Darjeeling:
(B, D) Transfer to the airport for your flight to Bagdogra.
Upon arrival, proceed by road to the premier hill resort of
Darjeeling, some 7,000 feet above sea level. On arrival in
Darjeeling transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Darjeeling/Pemanyangtse:
Darjeeling, queen of the hill stations, and famous for its
tea, commands a majestic view of the beautiful snowcapped
Himalayas. Morning proceed on an excursion to Tiger Hill for
a breathtaking view of the sunrise and perhaps a glimpse of
Mount Everest. Later visit Ghoom Buddhist Monastery. Built
in 1934, it houses valuable Tibetan manuscripts and enshrines
the Maitreya Buddha. Following sightseeing, continue on to
the beautiful monastery Pemanyangtse, the second oldest in
Sikkim. Overnight at hotel in Pemanyangtse.
Day 04: Pemanyangtse/ Gangtok: After
breakfast, drive to Gangtok-Capital of Sikkim-deep in the
snow-clad Himalayas. An afternoon sightseeing tour of Gangtok
will acquaint you with it's pagoda-like roofs, crimson robed
monks in the bazaars, and distinctly old-world flavour everywhere.
Overnight at hotel in Gangtok.
Day 05: Gangtok: Morning depart for
a full day excursion to Phodang Monastery, located 28 kms
from Gangtok. Relax and enjoy the crisp air and varied wonders
of this highland, with picturesque valleys, mountain lakes
and trekking trails. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06: Gangtok/ Kalimpong: Travel
to the hill resort of Kalimpong, once situated on the main
trade route between India and Tibet. It now is a medley of
diverse mountain people-the Nepalese, Tibetans, Bhutanese,
and Lepchas. On arrival, transfer to the hotel. Afternoon
tour Kalimpong, with visits to Dr. Graham's Homes, a vast
educational complex picturesquely set on 500 acres of hillside
and the 17th Century Buddhist Monastery on 10th mile-the oldest
in Kalimpong. Overnight at hotel.
Day 07: Kalimpong/Phuntsholig/Thimphu:
Leave India by surface for Thimphu, Capital city of the mountain
kingdom of Bhutan. Protected by the mighty Himalayas, and
having been isolated to the outside World until 1960. Bhutan
offers the traveler a journey to an age of simplicity, a kingdom
of untouched beauty. Enroute, stop for lunch at Phuntsholing,
Bhutan's gateway to the south. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check-in
at your hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08: Thimphu: Morning, a short
drive to Satsam Chorten. Here, climb upon trail-wise horses
for a lovely two-hour ride to Taktsang. Visit the ancient
monastery, followed by light refreshments and lunch. Later
return to Thimphu. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09: Thimphu/Punakha: Morning
witness age-old mask and folk dances, performed by the Royal
Academy of Performing Arts. Few outsiders have seen these
ritual dances, where masked dancers leap through the air,
accompanied by drums, cymbals and long horns. Following the
performance, visit Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in memory
of the Third King, HM Jigme Dorge Wangchuk. Then travel through
spectacular countryside on your way to Punakha, two-hour scenic
Dochula pass drive. Enjoy light refreshments at Dochula Cafe
and lunch at Wangdiphodrang valley. Upon arrival in Punakha,
the old Capital city of Bhutan (until 1955), tour the Dzong
(monastery) and High School. O/n at hotel.
Day 10: Punakha/Paro: Leave by surface
for Paro, a sacred valley containing some of Bhutan's oldest
monasteries and shrines. Enroute you will stop at Thimphu
for lunch. Upon arrival in Paro, rest of the day is at your
leisure. Overnight at hotel in Paro.
Day 11: Paro: After breakfast, proceed
on a sightseeing tour of Paro Valley. The first stop is Drukyel
Dzong, fortress of the victorious Drukpas, or inhabitants
of Bhutan. On a clear day you can see the white-domed peak
of sacred Chomolhari (Mountain of the Goddess) looming 24,000
feet above you. Next stop at a typical Bhutanese farmhouse,
and Paro Bazaar. Following lunch, visit Ta Dzong, the national
museum housed in an ancient watchtower, with its fine collections
of Thangka paintings, textiles and weapons. Sightseeing is
rounded off with a short walk over to Paro Rimpung Dzong.

Day 12 : Paro/Delhi: (B) Morning
transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival,
transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Perhaps enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool, or venture out
for some souvenir shopping.
Day 13 : Delhi: (B) Full-day sightseeing
tour of India's Capital city. First visit New Delhi, designed
by the British in the 1920s. It is a city of wide boulevards,
impressive government buildings, green parks and gardens.
See the monuments of Humayun's Tomb and Qutab Minar, then
continue with a drive along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath,
to India Gate and Parliament House. Afternoon visit the ancient
walled city of Old Delhi, with stops at the Red Fort, Jama
Masjid, Raj Ghat, the Memorial site of Mahatma Gandhi, and
Old Delhi's bustling market Chandni Chowk.
Day 14: Departure Delhi: Early morning
transfer to International airport for flight to your onward
destination.
Room till 12 noon of Day 14.
