Destinations : Delhi - Amritsar -
Dalhousie - Dharamshala - Manali - Shimla – Delhi
Day 01: Arrive Delhi: Accommodation available till
12:00 noon, assistance on arrival at the airport and transfer
to the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi: In the morning
proceed for a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi visiting the
Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Rajghat, Akshardham Temple, Lotus
Temple, Qutab Minar and the India Gate. Also drive thru the
Parliament and the President’s house. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Delhi / Amritsar:
Morning transfer to New Delhi railway station to board
Shatabdi express for Amritsar, upon arrival transfer to hotel.
Later in the afternoon proceed for a sightseeing covering
Golden Temple-the holy scripture is brought in a vivid
procession from the Akal Takhat (the highest temporal seat of
the Sikhs) in the morning to the temple to be returned at
night.
Jallianwala Bagh-the historic site
where hundreds of innocent Indian men, women an children were
massacred by British General Michael Dyer on April 13, 1919. A
memorial and Garden have been created here as a national
monument.
Day 04 : Amritsar - Dalhousie
200Kms, 4 ½ hrs: Morning drive to Dalhousie. Upon arrival
check into the hotel, later day at leisure, overnight at the
hotel.
Day 05 : Dalhousie: Day at leisure to enjoy this
beautiful colonial hill station. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 06 : Dalhousie - Dharamshala 170 Kms,5 hrs. :
Morning drive to Dharamsala/Mcleodganj- Originally home of the
semi-nomadic Gaddi tribe, McLeodganj is today the residence of
His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. This mid 19th century place was
developed as a British Garrison. The place was developed as an
important administrative point for the whole Kangra valley.
Today the place has developed as headquarters of the exiled
Tibetan Government. The impressive monastery has larger than
life size images of Buddha, Padmasambhava and Avaloketeshwara.
Upon arrival check into the hotel. Later day at leisure,
overnight at the hotel.
Day 07: Dharamsala: Morning proceed for a sightseeing
covering Namgayal Monastery, Bhagsunath Temple- Just 11-km
from the town center of Dharamsala is the ancient temple of
Bhagsunath. There are many fresh water springs close to the
temple, which are considered sacred by the Hindus.
St. John's Church: One of the most poignant memories of the
British Raj is the church of St. John, situated in the
wilderness. This charmingly dressed stone church is located
just 8-km from Dharamsala on the way to McLeod Ganj. Under the
shade of Doedar branches, a memorial has been made over the
body of the British Viceroy, Lord Elgin who died at Dharamsala
in 1863. & Tibetan Children Village Institute. Overnight at
the hotel.
Day 08: Dharamsala: Day at
leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09: Dharamsala / Manali 253 Kms,8 hrs: In the
morning leave for Manali - the most sought after Destination
of Kulu Valley. Also referred to as the "Valley of the Gods",
Manali is an important hill station of northern India and is
the destination of thousands of tourists every year. Tours in
Manali provide cool atmosphere for the ones afflicted by the
hot Indian summers. Besides offering quite a few places for
sightseeing, Manali is also an ideal place for the ones in
search of both comfort and also for adventure sports like
skiing, hiking, mountaineering, paragliding, rafting,
trekking, kayaking, and mountain biking. Upon arrival check
into hotel, overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: In Manali: Morning at leisure for your own
activities. Afternoon proceed for a sightseeing tour of Manali,
visiting Vashishtha Baths - The hot water spring of Vashishtha
is famous for its medicinal power and a must visit site during
vacations in Manali. A large number of people throng here for
a bath as the water of the spring is believed to cure several
diseases. There is a pyramidal stone temple nearby, which is
dedicated to Vashishta Muni.
Hadimba Devi Temple-The Hadimba Devi temple is an important
place to visit for tourists on vacation in Manali. The temple
is dedicated to the goddess-turned-demoness Hadimba (or
Hirimba), the wife of Bhima. Built in the 1553, this temple is
locally known as Doongri Mata temple. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11 : In Manali: Morning take a walk and chase the
shepherd trails Way up to the hills of the Kullu Valley and
capture a Picture of Himalayan Culture. Afterwards visit
Tibetan Monastery-Tourists must surely visit the colourful
Tibetan monastery during their vacation in Manali. The
monastery is famous for its carpet-weaving unit where the
residents, the immigrants from Tibet, produce handicrafts of
various kinds that attract the tourists towards it. Evening at
leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 12 : Manali / Shimla 270 Kms, 7 hrs: In the morning
drive to Shimla, - the summer capital of British Raj Reach
Shimla, upon arrival check into hotel, overnight at the hotel.
Day 13 : In Shimla: In the morning proceed for a
sightseeing tour of Shimla - The pleasant sprawling town set
among the pine-clad hills presents the visitor with glimpses
of fading colonial charm. The buildings, The Mall, the picnic
spots tell you the story of the era when it was the summer
capital of the British India. A visit to the Mall brings you
to the centre of activity in the city. Move around the city
and you get to see some of the fascinating sights of the
landscape around. Some of the major attractions around are
Jakhoo Hill, Glen, Summer Hill, Chadwick Falls, Prospect Hill,
Institute of Advance Studies, Sankat Mochan, Taradevi Temple
and Himachal State Museum.
The excursions around Shimla are equally interesting
experience as they unveil to you the glory of the Raj era. You
can take a trip to the oldest and highest golf course in India
and to the world's highest cricket ground. For the religious
minded, the ancient temples around the Shimla are worth a
visit. Some of the interesting spots around Shimla are
Naldhera, Tattapani, Wildflower Hall, Mashobra, Craignano,
Kufri and Chail. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 15: Shimla: Day at leisure, to enjoy the beauty of
this hill station. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 16: Shimla – Delhi, Morning drive to Delhi, upon
arrival transfer to the airport to board flight for onward
journey. (End of the services).
